New SP5-AWD DAQ version!
The SP-five dyno controller provides all the necessary hardware and software controliing an engine test bed dynamometer, or rolling route dynamometers.
It implements a Safety Oriented closed loop brake command. It works even without the computer! (with the remote). Available modes: Inertial, Steady, Ramp and Fixed brake (other modes like Road Simulation are implemented in the software)
The new SP5-AWD version provides electronic synchronization betwixt front end and rear axles for AWD operation
Information technology is also capable of controlling a 2-HUB dynamometer using each roller channel for each restriction (right and left brakes)
It is the perfect tool for engine operation testing, ECU calibration, endurance testing, emissions etc.

Load Prison cell
Available models
150 Kg 300 Kg 500 Kg 1000 Kg
Default load prison cell: 500 Kg
Brake Power Supply PWS3.3 - 40 Amp
Model PWS3.iii - 40 Amp Brake Power Supply provides a faster brake response implementing a current control, between iii and 4 times faster than get-go model 1.0. PWS3.3 - twoscore Amp also include a Fast 32-bit MCU and CANBUS control/feedback
Improvements over PWS3.two:
- Metallic shunts to handle currents up to 40A, and to create less dissipation (shunts provide college accuracy and linearity than Hall sensors, every bit for example in PWS1.v)
- Specific Current Amplifier: low racket, high linearity
- 40 Amp Module in all units to match both 192V and 96V brakes
- Isolated USB port to ease the Firmware updates (they are necessary very rarely)
Features
- Input Voltage: 230Vac
- Freq: 50-65Hz
- Voltage out: 50, 75, 100, 200 Vdc
- Electric current out: up to forty Amp!
- Input Control Signal: PWM (2.4 KHz from SP4, SP5, SP6)
- LINEAR INPUT: analog 0 to 5 volt
- LCD Display
- Tin Control / Feedback
- (OPTIONAL) BLUETOOTH Feedback
Installation: PWS3.x and HS-PWS Installation and Setup Manual V1.two
Installation
Rolling Road Dyno
SP5 Tin exist used on several types of rolling road dynamometers:
- Motorbike (single roller)
- Auto, one axle, unmarried roller per wheel (or long single roller)
- Car, 1 axle, twin roller per bicycle (brake is mounted on the front rollers)
- Automobile, 2 axle, single or twin roller per bike, merely only one beam at once
- AWD Motorcar and HUB-ii: 2 axle, both axles operating at once. NOTE: this option has an extra toll!
- Other dynos based on rollers, with a maximum of 2 speed sensors
Engine Testbed Dyno
Part Listing for a consummate Engine Testbed installation:
- SP5 unit. It can piece of work stand alone or with the estimator.
- Calculator. Win98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista, Win7, Win8.1.
- Hall Effect Sensor. Included with SP5.
- Gear Tooth. Installed on the eddy current brake to read its speed. For example 8 teeth.
- Load Cell. It depends on the engine, typical values are 500 kg for bike engines and 1000 kg for cars, but it should exist calculated.
- Eddy Electric current Brake. 192 volt rated, it size depends on the application.
- Power supply: Sportdevices control module + SCR & diode pack.
- Throttle Servo (optional). A high torque RC servo can be used to drive the throttle.
- Ignition and Starter Relays. 12 volt relays to control the engine. Additional relays can exist installed on the SP5 to command the fans on the room.
- Fans / Turbines. Some type of fans or turbines are needed to side by side functions:
- Feed the air intake with fresh air from outside the room (inner air gets hot chop-chop) this turbine should exist very loftier power (>two KW, or >5KW) and high speed to simulate on-track atmospheric condition, a variable speed driver is recommended + frequency to voltage converter to use the brake speed.
- Exhaust extraction, the pipes should be made with fe or steel because the loftier temperature of exhaust gas.
- Engine coolant, water should past couled past a fan, a car'due south fan or a truck'due south fan can be used with a thermostat to ensure the h2o will be at a right temperature.
- Engine and exhaust pipes cooling, when runing on the track the exhaust pipes are existence cooled as the vehicle runs, but when working on the dyno they may get also hot and can exist damaged. Certaint frazzle pipes tin non work at high temperatures (for case: titanium)
- Variable speed driver. It is recommended for air-intake turbine.
- Frequency to voltage converter. It converts the brake speed to a voltage for the variable speed driver. Our F-5 converter has a programmable transfer bend to let the user to adjust the turbine speed to the brake speed as he needs. An air speed sensor is recommended.
